... burst onto the U.K Music Scene in 2017 with the release of their debut e.p -‘Freakshow‘ - which showcased a unique combination of pop-rock and heavy metal sensibilities and received glowing praise from music reviewers.
The power & authenticity of the record also swiftly won the band a dedicated following amongst fans of independent music.
However , it was with the release of their full debut album - ‘Feel Alive’ - in 2019 that they came into their own. The record, boasting twelve slabs of infectious modern heavy rock, immediately caught the attention of music media outlets - playing regularly on radio stations worldwide , and also receiving fantastic support from the likes of Alex Baker, of Kerrang Radio fame.
STATE OF MILLENIA recalled the creation of the record in an interview : “The process of writing this album was very organic. One of us would approach the band with an idea and we’d write around it. We recorded with Dan Kerr at Avenue Studios. He’s a super-efficient, organised producer which makes him a pleasure to work with.”
STATE OF MILLENIA is made up of Dylan Boulton (bass), Danny Russel (guitar), Reece Boulton (guitar/vocals), Ciaran Burgess (lead vocals) & Jules Marrison (drums)
Siblings, Reece and Dylan Boulton have had shared musical tastes since their early teens, which provided the catalyst for SOM’s creation. When Reece met fellow guitarist Danny at a local skate park. Drummer Jules Marrison later joined the ranks in 2019 and lead singer Ciaran joined the band during the pandemic.
The debut album ‘Feel Alive’ was released in 2019 , and it provided a snapshot of their raw power and also a tempting insight into their potential ability to dominate the scene for years to come. It generated a dedicated core-fan base and also paved the way for the band to play a slew of prominent shows. The album soon began to generate nationwide airplay and encouraging online reviews & coverage.
With their 2019 album proving to be such a huge success, both in the U.K and overseas, it is now without doubt that STATE OF MILLENIA will remain a prominent figure in the UK scene for many years to come.
