... is comprised of four incredibly talented musicians & performers from West Norfolk who have been making fresh and fired-up Indie rock music for the last couple of years - a band which has been catching the attention of music fans , as well as the eye of National Radio stations!

Made up of Will Barnes (Vocals & Guitar), Adam Garwood (Lead Guitar), Ciaran Liam (Bass), Peter Catlin (Drums), their sound packs a very unique punch - featuring distinctive driving guitars and ear-catching rhythms which compliment the refreshingly honest & authentic lyrical content, exploring themes such as small-town monotony and the 9-5 grind, amongst many other subjects.

 ‘No Hope’ was the track which attracted the full attention of the BBC National Networks and very quickly it helped to position THE EXTONS into playing the Reading and Leeds Festival - with a large part due to being played by BBC Radio 1, after they featured the song as their ‘Introducing track of the week’. However, die-hard followers of the band would also point to an extensive catalogue of equal quality - all of which perfectly demonstrates the band’s full range of skills and power.

Norwich City fans will also be no stranger to their thumping anthem ‘Grown Ups’ , with the track having been heard on the club’s social media goals montage before the fixture against Southampton in November 2021. Another notable event which occurred in November 2021 (the 27th) was the memorable night THE EXTONS played to a fully sold-out gig at the Norwich Waterfront, where chants of “we want more” from the ecstatic crowd were loudly proclaimed at the end of the set ... and even during it, such was the enthusiasm!
Hearing such a joyous noise from a boisterous & passionate crowd is always a sign of a good band at the top of their game, and never more so when considering that everybody was still struggling after the fog of Lockdowns, illnesses and lethargy  from the preceding 18 months.

The band’s eclectic style was originally displayed with their first single release I won’t Leave Lonely, which received acclaim from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, and received glowing reviews for it’s unapologetic in-your-face style.

During the darkest times of the Pandemic the band also put together a Charity Single to raise funds towards the NHS, a track called Dance Boy (Something To Believe In), which was released in the spring of 2020.

But despite a whirlwind couple of years which has seen the band lauded by the BBC, as well as the memorable performance at the prestigious Reading and Leeds Festival and playing sold-out national & hometown gigs ,  recent music life has obviously been frustrating in many ways. One of which was the understandable but still demoralising dearth of opportunities to perform, but they now have a host of shows in store for 2024 - catch them live where you can !
