A young orphan girl, Sophie, gets taken away to a faraway land populated by Giants and Dreams. But Sophie's pal, The Big Friendly Giant, differs from others of his kind in that he doesn't eat kids! Together Sophie, the BFG, and the Queen of England deal with the threat of other giants.
