There has been a rumble in the East Anglian music grapevine of an imminent return to Norwich of the near-legendary BOOMBOX live music nights, of which BOOMBOXtv plays a role.
This rumble has now been confirmed to be extremely accurate - if we are judging it by the several intriguing posts that have appeared across social media platforms today, seemingly posted by the mysterious & shadowy The A.I.R Events organisation.
” We are happy to announce the imminent return of the musical behemoth that is BOOMBOX - coming back to its spiritual, and actual home, of Norwich on FRIDAY 16th October 2026.” - The A.I.R Events (sic)
Over the course of the last 8 years the BOOMBOX nights have played host to several hundreds of groups and artistes, providing a platform to reach new fans alongside ceaseless, nee relentless, promotion.
It should go without saying, but we shall say it anyway, that with such a back catalogue of superb musicians, songwriters, performers and the like, it was always going to be impossible to fit everyone into the lineup for the October show - which is as frustrating. However it does give the nefarious folk behind these awesome musical extravaganzas the opportunity to read the energy within the local music scene after their absence, having been away for the last two-ish years caring for 2 profoundly disabled children-turned-adults.
It would seem that if the communal need to unite, as well as the commitment to supporting each other, to get to the mutual goal of regular gigs and musical parity & respect is still present within this scene then there could be more BOOMBOX ‘Shannonigans’ for other acts to be involved in.
Details are still slowly emerging regarding the final line-up and location of the show- and there may be something rather exciting to add to that too… but you know where to find that info , when it’s available - failing that , I will personally update you on here in the future!!
